Book reading progress
I made a new page to hold my reading list for this year. It includes books I've read (or listened to, i.e., audiobooks), am reading and plan to read during 2006. Some of these I listed in my Books to Read in 2006.
As far as progress goes, I'm not really where I'd like to be.
- I've listened to (as opposed to reading) Atlas Shrugged, but I'm not sure that's a horrible thing. It was very good, and I do still want to read it at some point.
- I put down Quicksilver some months back, which means I may need to start from the beginning again. It's not really the kind of book you can just pick back up in the middle.
- As for Anthem, I've had quite a glut of Rand recently, what with listening to Atlas Shrugged and Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal (which is made up of mostly her essays). It's all good stuff, but I want to make sure I get a diversity of things.
- State of Fear was an impulse read. Hil was reading it, and I kept seeing it lying on the table, so I just kind of picked it up and started reading. I will probably be done with it in less than a week (it's been about four days so far, and I have maybe 200 pages left).
- I actually didn't read all of You Have More Than You Think, but I read the 85% of it that applied to me (as someone who has no money to invest at the moment – but hey, I guess I have more than I think ;)).
- Writing for Dollars is decidedly a bathroom book, and I've been pecking away at it a bit at a time. Each chapter or "tip" is pretty short so I can usually get one in (or maybe two if it's a longish sitting).
- You Can't Say That! is another that I started reading and then put down. What I read was good, just didn't have the time to devote to it at the time.
Anyway, that's my list for now.
